Preds Take To The Road
Nashville Predators vs. Carolina Hurricanes
The Nashville Predators play their first road game of the 2010 Preseason schedule tonight when they travel to Raleigh to face the Carolina Hurricanes (6pm CT start). This is a rematch of last night's contest between the Preds and Canes in Nashville, a 3-1 Carolina win. Tonight's game also marks the second game of a four game in five night stretch for the Predators which will include games on Saturday night and Monday night (both at Bridgestone Arena).

The Predators will not be broadcasting tonight's game on either TV or radio, however you can follow the action in the NashvillePredators.com live game blog.

Last Night
The Preds got on the board first with a goal from J-P Dumont midway through the first period. Carolina responded with a pair of second period tallies. Patrick O'Sullivan scored on a breakaway early in the period and Sergei Samsonov netted a power-play goal late in the frame. Erik Cole added an empty netter late in the third period to round out the scoring. Pekka Rinne started in net for Nashville and stopped 17-of-18 shots (the only goal against was O'Sullivan's breakaway) before giving way to Mark Dekanich midway through the second period. Dekanich stopped six-of-seven shots in his half of the game. Justin Peters went the full game in net for Carolina to earn the win with 27 saves.

Preds and Canes

The Preds and Carolina Hurricanes met once during the 2009-10 regular season, a 4-2 Preds win in Nashville on January 7. After the Hurricanes opened the scoring early in the first period, the Predators responded with four consecutive goals. J-P Dumont scored shorthanded with 6:15 left in the opening frame to tie game and Patric Hornqvist put the Preds ahead for good with a power-play tally at the 19:36 mark of Period 1. Steve Sullivan made the score 3-1 with 1:10 remaining in the second period, the eventual game-winning goal. Hornqvist added his second power-play goal of the night in the middle of the third period. Pekka Rinne made 25 saves in net for the win.

Nashville and Carolina also met twice last preseason. The road team won both contests, with the Preds picking up a 4-2 win in Raleigh on Sept. 18 and the Hurricanes posting a 5-2 win in Nashville on Sept. 26.
