COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ryan Jones scored twice and Dan Ellis stopped 36 shots for the Nashville Predators in a 4-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets in the preseason finale for both teams Sunday.

Jones opened the scoring at 3:18 of the first period and completed it with a power-play goal at 1:26 of the third, redirecting a shot by Cal O'Reilly.

Bouillon & Klein Step Up
With the Preds "Big Three" defensemen -- Dan Hamhuis, Ryan Suter, and Shea Weber -- sitting out tonight's preseason finale, Kevin Klein and training camp invitee Francis Bouillon we asked to shoulder the veteran responsibilities in Nashville's preseason finale tonight.

Primarily paired together during tonight's game, Bouillon and Klein were on the ice for all four of the Preds goals scored tonight and each skated over 20:00 of ice time. Klein picked up an assist on Patric Hornqvist's goal to give the Preds a 2-1 second period lead, and Bouillon netted the game-winning goal late in the second period to put the Preds up 3-2.

Beyond the offensive contributions, the duo logged tough minutes. Klein saw 5:23 of shorthanded ice time in the game; Bouillon chipped in 4:53 of shorthanded time.

For Klein the game was a big-time bounceback after being called out by the coaches for a lackluster performance last night against Carolina. For Bouillon it was a big statement that he's recovered from the injuries which limited his play at the end of last season.

Patric Hornqvist and Francois Bouillon also scored for the Predators, who were outshot 11-2 in the first period and 38-23 for the game.

Nikita Filatov and Rick Nash tallied for Columbus.

Bouillon put the Predators up 3-2 at 17:35 of the second period after taking a pass from behind the goal line by Michael Santorelli. Bouillon was low in the left faceoff circle when he put a slap shot on net before goalie Steve Mason could cover the near post.

It was similar to Nashville's goal earlier in the period except on the opposite side. The Predators (4-2-0) had their first shot in 19 1/2 minutes just seconds before Hornqvist scored on the power play at 3:17 to break the 1-all tie.

Nash made it 2-all on the power play at 16:47 with a low drive to the stick side of Ellis. Nash was positioned at the top of the left circle when he received a drop pass from Fedor Tyutin.

Columbus (4-3-1) lost for the first time in five games. It opens Saturday against Minnesota.

Nashville plays at Dallas on Saturday. The Predators open their home schedule on October 8 against the Colorado Avalanche.
