Thrashers 5, Predators 4
Associated Press

ATLANTA (AP) - Free-agent newcomer Nik Antropov scored his first goal for Atlanta, and Josh Gratton added two goals in the Thrashers' 5-4 exhibition victory over the Nashville Predators on Wednesday night.

Antropov had three assists in his debut Monday night in a 4-2 home win over Carolina. He signed a four-year, $16 million contract with Atlanta after playing for Toronto and the New York Rangers last season.

Bryan Little and Joey Crabb added goals for Atlanta (2-1-1). Martin Erat scored twice for Nashville (3-1-0), and Peter Olvecky and Mike Santorelli also scored.

Thoughts From Atlanta
Ryan Jones updates are very positive. Jones fell akwardly after being tripped by Boris Valabik in the second period and was a little sore; not worth risking a more serious injury in a preseason game. Impression is Jones would have continued playing had this been a regular season game.

On the topic of Jones, he's put together an impressive training camp this year; looks a lot more comfortable on the ice -- making quicker and smarter reads and has been a more dangerous offensive player in both the preseason games and the practice drills.

Patric Hornqvist continues to impress this preseason. He filled the scoresheet again tonight with two assists, five shots on goal, and three hits. He's shown the ability through the early parts of camp to make an impact when playing on a scoring line or on a more defensively oriented line.

Mike Santorelli continues to produce, scoring the Preds opening goal, his second goal and fourth point of the preseason. Santorelli had an assist on the game-tying goal vs. Columbus on Saturday night (in Nashville's eventual 3-2 win) and assisted on the game-winning goal in Nashville's 4-2 win at Carolina on Friday night. He also posted two goals and an assist in the team's intrasquad scrimmage last Wednesday.

Peter Olvecky had a up-and-down game. He took a pair of ill-advised tripping penalties on back-to-back shifts in the second period, but came back with a goal during the Preds late rally -- his second goal of the preseason.
