CAREER NOTES: Served as team captain and played in 38 of the University of Minnesota’s 39 games in 2009-10… Led Golden Gopher forwards and ranked second on the team in plus/minus rating (+5)… A 2010 WCHA and Big Ten Conference All-Academic team selection… Signed a two-year contract with Nashville on April 2, 2010, and appeared in two regular-season games, and one playoff contest for Milwaukee (AHL)… Ranked second on the club in penalty minutes (62), and was one of three Gophers to appear in all 37 games for UM in 2008-09… Also served as an alternate captain during his junior season… Helped Minnesota to their NCAA-record 32nd national tournament berth in 2007-08… Ranked fourth on the Golden Gophers in penalty minutes (51) in 2007-08… Played for the U.S. at the 2008 World Junior Championships… Led Team USA and finished fourth in the tournament in penalty minutes (16)… Tied for the Minnesota team lead in penalty minutes (58) in 2006-07… Spent two seasons with the U.S. National Team Development program in 2004-05 (U-17) and 2005-06 (U-18)… Captured the gold medal with Team USA at the 2006 World U-18 Championships… Helped Team USA take first place at the 2005 Four Nations Cup in Rochester, N.Y….
