Predators Internships

We offer full-time college students the opportunity to work as non-compensated interns while earning college credit during each semester: Fall, Spring and Summer. Predators' internships enable students to "roll up their sleeves" and truly learn how a professional sport franchise operates. Interns are placed in one of the departments listed below and are given a variety of duties. Upon completion of the internship, all interns will be given the opportunity to formally present their accomplishments for the semester.

Our fax number: 615-770-2309 Internship PossibilitiesBroadcasting DepartmentThe Broadcasting Department is responsible for all radio and television broadcasts, as well as all aspects of game presentation, which includes timing, music, video, promotions and entertainment. This department offers two internships: Broadcasting InternshipThis intern helps with game production and editing, shooting Beta cam, logging highlights, and interview setups. There is one intern in this position for the summer, and two for each the spring and fall. Game Presentation InternshipThis intern assists with game presentation, documentation of game format, setup and breakdown of promotions, and special events. There is one intern in this position for the summer, and two for each the spring and fall Communications and Development DepartmentThe Communications and Development department includes all day-to-day public and media relations, corporate communications, team publications and website, and all community relations as well as amateur and youth hockey programs. This department offers three internships: Media Relations and Publications InternshipThis intern assists in the compilation of statistical materials, helps maintain archives (clip files, photo files, etc), produces daily clip package, writes articles for publications and website, edits various media relations materials, assists in the coordination of game day activities (pre-game set-up, press box operation and post-game), and assists in daily media/public/corporate communication activities. There are two media relations and publications internships available each semester. Youth and Amateur Hockey InternshipThis intern assists in the management of the Nashville Street Pride program, develops an inventory of youth and Amateur Hockey programs from around the NHL, assists in the day to day operations of the Nashville Predators 2000 Hockey School and Street Hockey schools as assigned by Amateur/Youth Hockey Coordinator, participates in community-related activities such as clinics and demonstrations, develops and implements new youth and amateur hockey related programs, including Pepsi Hot Shots, Predators Pioneers, etc, and assists with season events such as the Predators Cup, Coaches clinics, Street Pride tournaments, etc. There is one youth and amateur hockey internship available each semester. Community Relations InternshipThis intern helps fulfill donation requests on a monthly basis, distribute tickets through the Give and Go Program, maintain databases, assists with game night silent auction and related activities, assists in planning fund-raising events, creates internal organizational binders, assists in community programs, and participates in the grant distribution process. There is one community relations internship available during the spring, summer, and fall semesters. Web Site InternshipThis intern assists in duties related to the official Predators Web site, nashvillepredators.com. These duties include editing and uploading photos to form galleries; assisting with the capture and posting of multimedia; monitoring and moderating the message board; making editorial changes to site pages; updating player stats and bio information, event calendar, and other site content; and assisting with game-night duties and post-game Web coverage. There is one Internet internship available each semester. Corporate SponsorshipThe Corporate Sponsorship Department involves the process of selling corporations marketing and sponsorship opportunities with both the Predators and the Sommet Center. The sponsorships include, but are not limited to, signage, fascia, dasher boards, TV (Fox Sports Net South) and radio (WTN 99.7) commercials, theme nights, and advertisements in the Predators publications, as well as other marketing opportunities. This department offers one internship: Corporate Sponsorship InternshipThis intern assists in the development of programs with new and existing corporate sponsors that would enhance sponsorships and activation at the retail level. Also, this person assists staff in preparing proposals and disseminating information for sponsors, develop, prepare, update, and coordinate materials for sales center in support of the department on a daily basis, manage department timelines and budgets with the Department Head, research projects, and participate in other duties, including game night, as required. There is one corporate sponsorship internship available for the spring and fall semesters. FinanceThe Finance Department services both the accounting operations of the Nashville Predators and of the Sommet Center. The department's responsibility is to provide accurate financial information to both internal and external users. Monthly activities include billing customers (accounts receivable), paying vendors (accounts payable), reconciling accounts (cash, A/R, etc.), preparing journal entries, and game and event settlements. The monthly preparation of financial statements is also a key responsibility. This department offers one internship: Finance and Administration InternshipThis intern performs general office duties such as filing, copying, creating worksheets, as well as works on special projects, which may include internal audits and accumulation of data for analysis. The finance department attempts to involve interns in all facets of the operations in order for the intern to better understand the role of the finance department.
The number of these internships vary by semester. MarketingThe Marketing Department is responsible for all brand development and paid communications, which includes advertising and media promotions development and execution, in addition to special events development and management. This department offers two internships: Marketing InternshipThis intern helps coordinate, timeline, and track production of print, broadcast, outdoor and other media or advertising projects, maintains collateral material (brochures, pamphlets, etc.) and archives, assists with the development and execution of sponsor related promotions, maintains promotions calendar, assists with the creation of promotional programs and retail promotion evaluation programs, performs various game night and special event duties, and helps with consumer data profile development. There are two marketing internships available for the spring and fall semesters, and one available during the summer semester. Graphic Arts InternshipThis intern works under the direction of the art department to uphold the graphic standards of the Nashville Predators. This person works with team graphic artists to develop and execute visual concepts and themes in support of marketing efforts. They also do keyboard editorial changes, refine layouts, and organize and prepare files for printing, manage graphic photo files and prepare to use by other team staff, and work under the direction of Predators graphic and marketing staff to design and produce print projects, including ads, brochures, signage, packaging, trade show displays, etc. This intern may accompany team staff for press check with local printer. There is one graphic arts internships each semester. Ticket Sales and Fan RelationsThe Ticket Sales Department is responsible for generating revenue for the Nashville Predators in the form of season tickets, partial season tickets, group, and suite sales. The Fan Relations Department is responsible for providing Outrageous Customer Service to the fans of the Nashville Predators. There is one internship in these areas: Ticket Operations/Fan Relations InternshipThis intern works with the Ticket Sales department to help generate and organize new sales leads, as well as assist in the printing and distribution of tickets during the season. The intern will also assist the Fan Relations staff with our season ticket holder fan loyalty program. Intern will receive training in both the Archtics and Ticketmaster ticketing programs, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word. There is one ticket operations/fan relations internship for the spring and fall semesters. Hockey DepartmentThe hockey department offers one internship. This intern will assist with maintaining scouts schedules and setting up credential passes, with follow up calls, to NHL, AHL, ECHL, college and junior teams; produce weekly statistical packages for General Manager and Assistant General Manager; assist with distributing prospect information to General Manager, Assistant General Manager and scouting staff; create and update Maximizer database; update Predators players map in Hockey Operations office and at Centennial practice arena; organize and distribute scouts mail every two weeks; organize and distribute hockey operations mail; maintain Hockey Operations supply cabinet; assist in production of special seasonal projects and planning of seasonal events; perform game night duties with Hockey Operations and Public Relations department including out-of-town scores, period statistics, post-game statistics and other game night duties; perform other duties as assigned by management. ArenaThe Sommet Center is the multi-seat venue of the Nashville Predators. In addition, the multi-faceted Sommet Center hosts concerts, family shows, conventions, rehearsals, etc. Departments within the arena include Operations, Engineering, Security, Event Services, Box Office, and Finance and Administration. There are two arena internships: General Arena InternThe overall objective of the Sommet Center internship is to provide the student with a comprehensive understanding of public assembly facility management. The Arena Intern will be immersed in all aspects of the Sommet Center's day-to-day operations. Each intern will gain first-hand experience in Operations, Engineering, Security, Event Services, Box Office, Finance, and Administration. Each department will provide the intern with practical hands-on experience. This intern will assist with event coordination, process ticket orders via computerized ticketing systems, assist with event set-up and breakdown, and maintain daily clip archives. Other specific responsibilities will vary with the event schedule. There are up to two general arena internships each semester. Arena Ticket Operations InternThis intern assists in the day-to-day completion of in-house, group, and mail order ticket requests, sell tickets at the sales windows, provide quality customer service to patrons of the Sommet Center, perform various game night and event duties, and work on special projects and related duties as assigned. The Box Office is responsible for the ticket operations of all events at the Sommet Center, including Nashville Predators Hockey Games, Concerts, Family Shows, Sporting Events, and Fan Fair. There are one or two arena ticket operations internships during the fall and spring semesters.
