Jack Diller Education Award
The Jack Diller Education Award will be awarded to four successful students residing within Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. All high schools within this vicinity are encouraged to nominate two male and two female students for this prestigious college award. Four eligible applications per school will be accepted.Each recipient will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2,500. Our winners will also be honored in an in-arena presentation at a Predators home game at the Sommet Center this season.
Past Diller Education Award Recipients
In April the Nashville Predators Foundation announced the four recipients of the 2010 Jack Diller Education Award. A total of $10,000 in college scholarships was awarded to the four students, who were selected from over 150 high school seniors from 70 different high schools who applied for the award. The Predators Foundation has awarded $40,000 in four years.

Candidacy
All scholarship candidates must be nominated by a teacher or coach. To nominate a student(s), the school official must attach a letter of recommendation describing the unique qualities, achievements and circumstances that make the student(s) an exceptional scholarship nominee.

Eligibility
Student applicants must meet the following criteria:
· College-bound senior currently attending a Nashville or Middle Tennessee area high school (must be attending college in the fall of 2010).
· Display leadership qualities in the classroom and/or inspirational qualities on the athletic field.
· Minimum grade point average of 3.0 from sophomore to senior high school year.
· Demonstrate the value of education, good work ethic and community outreach.
There will be no discrimination regardless of gender, race or religion when choosing a successful scholarship recipient. The Selection Committee will not base its decisions in any way on the employment status of an applicant or the employment status of the applicant’s parents/guardians.
Immediate family members, relatives and front office employees in association with the selection committee and the sponsoring sports teams are not eligible for consideration of a scholarship.
The Application
Each student must submit the following information to complete this application:
· Jack Diller Education Award application form and signed Eligibility Requirements & Promotional Efforts form
· Taking into consideration academic achievement, athletic success and community involvement, please write a 2-3 page essay explaining why you believe you are a deserving candidate (essays longer than 3 pages will not be considered).
· Two letters of recommendation from non-relatives. One must be written by the teacher or coach who nominated the student.
· Official transcripts from each high school attended.
