The Nashville Predators summer hockey school wraps up this week. In total over 225 kids ages 5-14 participated in the three, week-long sessions offered at both A-Game in Franklin and Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.

The 13th annual Nashville Predators Hockey School at A-Game featured all day instruction led by Tim McAllister, A-Game Hockey Director, along with coaches from the Nashville Jr. Predators, Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey League and other certified instructors. Boys and girls ages 8-14 logged quality ice time totaling 15 hours of on ice instruction, along with daily off ice training led by Preds Strength & Conditioning coach David Good. Off ice training included daily sessions at the TDM Hockey Center inside A-Game. The final day of camp was held at Bridgestone Arena were kids were treated to a tour of the Preds locker room and a unique opportunity to skate on ‘gold ice’ for the camp finale scrimmages. Special guests throughout the week included Preds forward #16 Rich Clune, goaltender #35 Pekka Rinne, prospects Zach Budish, Magnus Hellberg, Seth Jones, Brendan Leipsic; Alumni Sebastien Bordeleau, Greg Claussen, J-P Dumont, Stu Grimson, Dan Kezcmer; and Preds Hockey Operations Director Brian Poile.

This summer the Preds also offered a camp for young hockey players. The 7th annual Little Preds Hockey offered two, week-long evening sessions for ages 5-8 at both A-Game and Centennial Sportsplex. This camp was a tremendous opportunity for those new to the sport. The 75-minute nightly ice sessions covered basic skating skills, and the fundamental of stickhandling, passing and shooting along with fun, small area games. The final evening of camp featured cross-ice games so campers could show off what they learned throughout the week. During the closing ceremonies Preds raffled off autographed Preds memorabilia to campers. Special guests throughout the week included Preds Alumni Stu Grimson, Dan Keczmer and team mascot Gnash!
