By Press Release  - Nashville Predators

- Nashville plays home opener on Tuesday, Oct. 8 vs. Minnesota;
Season Tickets and Twice Daily 15 Game Packs now on sale -

Nashville, Tenn.  – The National Hockey League released the 2013-14 regular-season schedule today. The first season of realignment maintains Nashville’s divisional rivalries with Chicago and St. Louis, and also features new division rivals in Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota and Winnipeg. Fans in Nashville will also see every Eastern Conference team make a stop at Bridgestone Arena in 2013-14.

The Nashville Predators open their 16th season on the road – the fifth road start in the last six seasons – at St. Louis (Thursday, Oct. 3), before playing their home opener five days later on Tuesday, Oct. 8 when they host the Minnesota Wild. The Predators will play 15 Saturday home games in 2013-14.

Nashville opens the season with five of its first seven games at home before heading out of town for its first extended road trip of the season, a 15-day, seven-game trip from Oct. 31-Nov. 15, which allows Bridgestone Arena to host the CMA Awards. The team will also be on the road from April 4-8 to accommodate the 2014 NCAA Women’s Final Four. The Predators’ heaviest home month will be in December while November is the most road-heavy, with nine games respectively. The club will get an 18-day hiatus from Feb. 9-26 as the League breaks for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Under the new NHL realignment, the Predators will play all other 29 teams in the NHL at least twice in 2013-14. Nashville will face five of six opposing teams from the newly-formed Central Division five times (Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets) and will play their final Central Division opponent, the Colorado Avalanche, four times. The Preds will take on the other seven Western Conference teams three times each, and face every Eastern Conference team once on the road and once at home.

“With the release of the 2013-14 schedule, NHL realignment has finally become a reality,” Bridgestone Arena and Nashville Predators CEO Jeff Cogen said. “Under this new format, Predators fans will have every opportunity to see dynamic All-Stars like Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin and Steven Stamkos, with all Eastern Conference teams making stops in Music City for the first time ever. Our new realigned division gives Preds fans a reason to get excited with the return of established rivals the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues, and the birth of new rivalries with the likes of Dallas and Minnesota. Visits from top teams and players, and an incredible 15 Saturday night homes games will once again make Smashville the place to be this season!”

The 2013-14 schedule is highlighted by visits from Central Division foes – with three home games against the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues, respectively, and two contests each versus remaining division-rival teams the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets. Eastern Conference highlights include just the fifth-ever visit to Music City by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 10; Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin lead the Penguins into town on March 4; and visits from former Preds Joel Ward and Martin Erat when the Washington Capitals come to town on March 30.

Celebrate Thanksgiving with the Preds at a Turkey-day tilt on Nov. 28 vs. the Edmonton Oilers, and the 2013 Eastern Conference Champion Boston Bruins visit Nashville just in time for the holidays on Dec. 23.

The schedule includes 15 sets of back-to-back games, four more two-games-in-two-nights scenarios from a season ago. The Predators play just six of their final 16 games at home, closing out the home portion of their schedule with a Fan Appreciation game on Saturday, April 12 vs. the Chicago Blackhawks. The team wraps up the 2013-14 campaign on the road for the seventh time in six seasons versus the Minnesota Wild on April 13 at Xcel Energy Center.

Thirty four of Nashville’s 41 home games fall on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. Four games will take place on a Monday, one on a Friday and two on a Sunday. Face-off for most Predators home contests will be at 7 p.m. (Central time), with the exceptions being 6 p.m. starts against Montreal on Dec. 21, Ottawa on Jan. 11 and Minnesota on Jan. 12.

Season Tickets for the 2013-14 Nashville Predators season in Smashville are on sale now and start at just $20 per game.
