Nashville Predators Recall Rask, Reassign Forsberg and Watson

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Joonas Rask (YOH-nuhs RASK) from Milwaukee (AHL), while assigning forwards Filip Forsberg and Austin Watson to the Admirals.

Rask, 23 (3/24/90), notched a goal and an assist in his first and only AHL game on April 19 against Charlotte. He joined Milwaukee on April 11 after completing his fourth season in the Finnish Elite League with Jokerit, where he posted 10 points (5g-5a) in 52 games. The 5-10, 176-pound defensive and face-off specialist was Nashville's seventh choice, 198th overall (seventh round), in the 2010 Entry Draft and is the younger brother of Boston Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask.

Watson has appeared in six games for Nashville since his first career recall on April 7. He scored his first NHL goal in Tuesday night’s win over Calgary. Forsberg notched his first career point/assist in his fourth NHL game on Tuesday.

The Nashville Predators close out the 2012-13 on the road with a Thursday night matchup against the Detroit Red Wings at 6:30 p.m. CT and a Saturday evening tilt against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 6 p.m. CT. These will be the final matchups for the Predators with the Red Wings and Blue Jackets as division rivals. Both games broadcast on FOX Sports Tennessee (Comcast: 1675 HS, 28 SD) and 102.5 The Game.

Join the Preds this Sunday, April 28 from 12-4 p.m. CT for a Fan Appreciation Celebration at Bridgestone Arena.
