Nashville Predators Assign Rask To Milwaukee

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has assigned forward Joonas Rask (YOH-nuhs RASK) to Milwaukee (AHL). Rask recently completed his fifth season in the Finnish Elite League with Jokerit.

Rask, 23 (3/24/90), posted 10 points (5g-5a) in 52 games with Jokerit in 2012-13. In 211 Finnish Elite League games with Ilves and Jokerit since 2008-09, the 5-10, 176-pound defensive and face-off specialist has 75 points (34g-41a) and 76 penalty minutes. He signed a two-year contract with Nashville on March 23, 2012 after being Nashville's seventh choice, 198th overall (seventh round), in the 2010 Entry Draft. The Savonlinna, Finland native is the younger brother of Boston Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask.

The Predators face off against the Dallas Stars tomorrow at 7 p.m. CT (SportSouth, 1676 HD, 26 SD and 102.5 FM The Game) for a College Night presented by Taco Bell, where college students who show their IDs at the door receive special ticket discounts. There will also be drink specials through the first intermission. Additionally, all fans in attendance will be given a Qdoba coupon for FREE chips and queso.

The Predators return to action for back-to-back games at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday and Monday. Sunday’s 6:30 CT game vs. the Detroit Red Wings is a McDonald’s Family 4 Pack night and additionally, all fans in attendance receive a Gold Predators T-shirt, a team poster courtesy of Hunt Brothers and a special offer from Fifth Third. Monday’s 7 p.m. CT matchup vs. the Vancouver Canucks is a Ford Hometown Heroes Night. In conjunction with the Hometown Heroes Night, the team will be presenting special military jerseys to select members of the Armed Forces throughout the night as well as putting some up for bid at the Preds Silent Auction Table. Both games broadcast on Fox Sports Tennessee (1675 HD, 28 SD) and 102.5 FM the Game.
