The Nashville Jr. Predators continue to amaze in their quest for the National Championship!

The U18 Jr. Preds win 2-1 in a hard fought semi final battle with the Utah Golden Eagles. The team started out quickly in the game with multiple quality chances in the first period, but ended the frame behind 1-0. In the 2nd the team continued to tenaciously drive the net and were rewarded with two blue collar rebound goals from Noah Keener and Tanner Smith. The team relied on quality penalty killing, as they managed to kill off two seperate 5 vs 3 short handed situations. Peter Yasso stood tall in net, shutting the door the rest of the way as the team turned in a stellar defensive third period to win the national semi final contest.

"It has been the goal from the start of the season to have success at the National Championship," head coach Ryan Lessnau said. "The team is peaking at the right time".

The U18 Jr. Predators will face the Charlotte Jr. Checkers for the National Championships at 8:00AM in Hartford, CT.

The U16 Jr. Predators pulled out a last second 3-2 victory over the Arizona Mission in the semi finals. As the teams skated 4 vs 4 with less than 10 seconds remaining on the clock, Nashville forward Caleb Callaway rushed the puck up ice and sent pass towards the slot that deflected off the Arizona defender and past the sprawling netminder with 3 seconds remaining on the clock. After the referees deliberation at center ice the goal was awarded, send the Jr. Predators on to the National Championship.

"I am proud of how our team rallied and refocused prior to the third period," head coach Scott Phillips said. "How we relentlessly pressured to succeed".

The team had earlier goals from Callawy, set up by Jack Mali and Sherman Mowery, and Jake Spychalski, assisted by Max Dorfman. The U16's will face Greensboro, NC in the National Championship at 10:00AM in Troy, MI.

"Very proud of the U14's teams effort this week at Nationals,"  Jr. Predators Hockey Director Jamie Herrington said. "It's never easy to lose a game at the end of the year, but this group of young men has accomplished a lot. Once the sting of this defeat wears of they will look back with pride on capturing the Bronze medal on the National stage. They were tremendous ambassadors of the program".
