The Nashville Jr. Predators completed a whirl wind of action at the Quebec International Peewee Tournament over the weekend, and this week is shaping up to be a special experience for the players.

The Jr. Predators opened their hockey action with a 3-0 win over the Montmorency Battalion in exhibition action on Saturday. The team came out with a strong effort and capitalized on two power play opportunities to earn the victory over the Quebec-based team.

The team opened tournament play on Sunday morning versus the Boston Jr. Bruins at the Pepsi Coliseum. The Jr. Predators out shot the Jr. Bruins 23-12, but came out on the losing side of a 2-0 game. The team had a number of quality scoring chances, including two shots that rang off the post, but failed to capitalize. With the loss the team moves to the left side of the tournament bracket. They will face Austria in their next tournament game on Tuesday at 3 p.m. EST. It is an elimination game and the team will advance in tournament action with a victory.

Following the Sunday morning tournament game the team played an afternoon exhibition game against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, a team made up of players from the Buffalo Regals, Syracuse Nationals and Amherst Knights. Playing in their second game of the day the team fell behind early giving up four goals in the first frame. In the second and third period the team showed a much better effort but ultimately fell to the Jr. Sabres 7-0.

Monday saw the Jr. Predators take on the Pittsburgh Selects in exhibition action. The team came out hard and opened the scoring on the first shift of the game. The Jr. Preds led for the entire game and a third period shorthanded goal sealed the 4-2 win for the Preds.
