  • the Milwaukee Admirals commence their post-All-Star break schedule with a two-game trip to California to play Bakersfield (Friday) and San Diego (Saturday) before another five-day break in their game schedule.
  • The team’s lone game in a 12-day span between Jan. 30-Feb. 4 came on Saturday as the Admirals defeated Grand Rapids 7-3 to extend their point streak to five games (4-0-1). Kevin Fiala – in his first game since being reassigned from Nashville – Cody Hodgson and Pontus Aberg all had one goal and one assist. Fiala has 14 points (5g-9a) in his last 14 AHL games, while Hodgson has five points (2g-3a) in five games since being sent to Milwaukee.
  • With a 27-13-3 record (57pts., .663 winning percentage), Milwaukee is ranked second in the Central Division, third in the Western Conference and fifth in the entire league.
  • Milwaukee has given up the sixth-fewest goals in the AHL (112), and its power play is eighth-best in the AHL at 19.7 percent.
  • At the AHL All-Star Classic on Sunday and Monday in Syracuse, N.Y., Admirals Head Coach Dean Evason led the Central Division to the All-Star Challenge title. The team included Predators prospect Frederick Gaudreau, and Vladislav Kamenev was selected to the game, but was unable to participate due to injury.
  • Milwaukee is a perfect 5-0 in games that are decided by a shootout. That’s the most shootout wins in the AHL, and makes them one of seven teams to remain perfect in the shootout. Kevin Fiala has a league-high four shootout goals and three shootout- deciding markers, on five attempts.
  • Kamenev had five points (2g-3a) in his first three games since returning from the World Junior Championship where he captained Russia to a silver medal, but is now sidelined with a lower-body injury.
  • Max Gortz is tied for ninth among all rookies in points.
  • Pontus Aberg is tied for third in the AHL in game-winning goals (5), while Gortz is tied for ninth (4).
  • Max Reinhart is tied for the League lead in shorthanded goals (3).
  • Defenseman Taylor Aronson has seven points (1g-6a) in his last seven games played, and is tied for eighth among AHL blueliners in power-play assists (10).
  • Defenseman Stefan Elliott – acquired recently from Arizona – has four points (2g-2a) in his first four games with the Admirals.
  • Marek Mazanec is 3-0-1 with a pair of shutouts in his last four starts, and finished the month of January with a 1.98 goals- against average and a .922 save percentage in six appearances. He is now tied for seventh among all AHL netminders in goals- against average, eighth in save percentage, and tied for fifth in shutouts.
  • Goalie Juuse Saros leads all rookies – and is tied for seventh in the AHL – in wins, while ranking first among AHL rookies in goals-against average and save percentage. He is a league-best eight-for-eight on shootout attempts with two victories in the situation.
  • ESPN.com recently updated their Top 50 prospect rankings, with Fiala coming in at No. 8, Kamenev at No. 12, and Saros being named the top-ranked goaltending prospect.
