As the Preds annual Rookie Development Camp was winding down this week, the rookies went out in the community to visit some of the organizations the Predators Foundation supports. At Room in the Inn, players Mattias Ekholm, Cam Reid, Jimmy Vesey, Pontus Aberg, and Patrick Cehlin participated in a team building activity with some of the residents and then helped cook dinner and set the table.

“Most think of the Predators organization as a hockey organization,” said Rachel Hester, Executive Director at Room In The Inn. “We at Room In The Inn, know them not only as hockey players but engaged, community minded Nashvillians (and future Nashvillians). It means a lot to understand the city in which you play and how diverse the fan base can be. We are proud to call them our team!”

Magnus Hellberg, Charles-Olivier Roussel, Scott Valentine, Joonas Jarvinen, and Max Gortz went to the Bellevue YMCA to play with a group of summer campers. They played air hockey, pool, and foosball. They also autographed Predators posters for each child.

“We were absolutely delighted to have the Predators visit our All Sports Academy Day Camp at the Bellevue Family YMCA,” said David Fish, Member Engagement Director at the Bellevue YMCA. “They not only played games with the campers, but genuinely took time to talk and get to know them. We would love to have them back for future events!”

Jack Maclellan, Josh Shalla, Brandon Leipsic, Simon Fernholm, and Mikko Vainonen went to Camp Widjiwagan to play street hockey with the kids. Victor Bartley, Mikka Salomaki, Chase Balisy, and Simon Karlsson all visited the Ronald McDonald House and baked cookies for the patrons and then toured the facility. Marek Mazanec, Brent Andrews, Taylor Beck, Colton Sissons, Michael Latta, Daniel Bang, Austin Watson, and Juuso Puustinen visited patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, and played with some of the kids in the playrooms. Taylor Aronson, Anthony Bitetto, Zach Budish, Nick Oliver, Garrett Noonan, and Zach Stepan visited patients at the VA Hospital. All of the rookies had good times visiting and helping out around the Nashville community, and look forward to doing it again.
