Martin Erat's second period goal keyed Czech Republic's 4-3 win over Sweden in the Quarterfinals of the 2012 World Championships. Erat has picked up points in all four games he's played in the tournament with three goals and one assist.

The Czechs will face Slovakia in the late Semifinal on Saturday. The Slovaks upset Canada 4-3 in the first Quarterfinal of the day, scoring the game's first two and last two goals, sandwiched around a three-goal run by Canada late in the first period and through the second period.

Team Sweden finished the tournament with a 6-2-0 mark. Patric Hornqvist appeared in the last three games of the tournament for the Swedes, averaging 17:21 ice time, while recording 13 shots on goal, including a game-high seven in the Quarterfinals match-up against Czech Republic.

Fellow Preds forward Craig Smith assisted on Bobby Ryan's goal to give the US a 2-1 lead 1:39 into the third period, but Team Finland rallied to tie the score midway through the period and then the Finns netted the game-winner with nine seconds left in regulation. The Americans closed out the tournament with a 6-2-0 record, as Smith contributed two assists and a +1 plus/minus rating in four games.

Finland will face Russia in the first Semifinal game on Saturday. Russia eliminated Norway in the Quarterfinals, 5-2.
