Preds vs. Wings: 2011-12 Season Series At A Glance
The Predators open the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs with a Western Conference Quarterfinals matchup against the Detroit Red Wings. The Predators went 3-3-0 against the Wings during the regular season.

Nov. 26 at Detroit: Red Wings 4, Predators 1
Howard vs Rinne (Zetterberg GWG) 
Game Highlights
Valtteri Filppula scored twice and dished out one assist as the Red Wings skated to a 4-1 win. Pekka Rinne made 33 saves in net, while Jack Hillen scored his first goal as a member of the Preds and Roman Josi made his NHL debut.

Dec . 14 at Nashville: Predsators 4, Red Wings 3
Rinne vs. Howard (Weber GWG) 
Game Highlights 
AShea Weber scored twice in the third period as the Predators rallied from a two-goal deficit to edge the Wngs, 4-3. Weber tied the game with a power-play goal at the 15:36 mark of the third and then put the Preds ahead with 1:36 left in regulation. Pekka Rinne made 37 saves, including 13 in the third period, to pick up the win in net.

Dec. 26 at Nashville: Red Wings 4, Predators 1
Howard vs. Rinne (Datsyuk GWG) 
Game Highlights 
Howard stopped 31 of 32 shots to help the Red Wings to a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Monday night, despite the Preds out shooting the Wings 32-22. Valtteri Filppula opened the scoring in the middle of the first period. Pavel Datsyuk and Danny Cleary extended the lead wit goals 13 second apart midway through the second frame. Ryan Ellis made his NHL debut in the game, filling in for an injured Shea Weber.

Feb. 17 at Detroit: Red Wings 2, Predators 1
MacDonald vs. Rinne (Datsyuk GWG)
  Game Highlights  
Pavel Datsyuk scored with 5 seconds left to give the Red Wings' their 22nd consecutive home victory, 2-1 over the Nashville Predators on Friday night. Johan Franzen opened the scoring in the first period and Nick Spaling tied the game with 5:02 remaining in the second period, before Datsyuk netted the winner in the waning moments of regulation.

Mar. 10 at Nashville: Predators 3, Red Wings 2
Rinne vs. MacDonald (A. Kostitsyn GWG) 
Game Highlights 
Sergei Kostitsyn found his brother Andrei twice on the power play, and the Nashville Predators edged the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Saturday night. Patric Hornqvist opened the scoring 7:30 into the game, but the Wings answered back on the game's next shift. The Kostitsyn's connected on their first goal later in the first period and, after a scoreless second period, extended the Nashville lead to 3-1 early in the third, before Detroit closed to within one with 5:25 left in regulation.

Mar. 30 at Detroit: Predators 4, Red Wings 1
Rinne vs. Howard (Bouillon GWG)
  Game Highlights  
Pekka Rinne's tremendous glove save on Henrik Zetterberg late in the second period turned the momentum of the game; with the Preds holding a 1-0 lead, Rinne made perhaps the save of the season and Nashville countered with a Francis Bouillon goal minutes later to push the lead to 2-0. The Preds added two more in the third period to skate away with the win.
