Predators Holiday Party Brings Smiles to Clarksville Dentist Office

When Dr. Jeannie Beauchamp brought her staff from Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry to Nashville’s Union Station Hotel for its 2010 holiday party, a large portion of the group ended up eating quickly and heading to a Predators game that night. So when it came time to plan the 2011 party, Beauchamp knew exactly where to focus.

“This year I said, ‘Let’s just plan around the Preds game,’ ” she recalls. “So everybody got their own room at the Renaissance and we did the All-Inclusive Zone area so we could all go up there early and eat and drink and watch the game up there.”

Beauchamp says the outing was so popular that the office of 22 employees—and their spouses—may end up doing the same every year now.

“It was more fun this year because our spouses all loved it. Obviously I’m female, and all of my staff is female. So much of the time if we go out to a Christmas party we might go to the Palm or somewhere like that. Well, the husbands like going but they’re not into the dressing up and all. So when we told them we were going to a Preds game they were like, ‘Yes!’ ”

The daughter of a hockey player, Beauchamp grew up watching the sport. “My Dad taught me how to ice skate before I could ride a bike,” she says. Beauchamp has lived in Middle Tennessee for 17 years and was excited when a National Hockey League franchise began playing in Nashville in 1998.

Now, as the owner of a half-season ticket package, she estimates that she makes it to between 12 and 15 games a season despite her dental practice’s busy schedule and the commute from Clarksville, Tenn. When she’s unable to attend, she typically holds a drawing to reward a lucky staff member with her tickets. Beauchamp considers five of her employees hardcore Preds fans, including one who purchased partial season ticket plans for herself and her three family members after the most recent holiday party.

“The games are always exciting,” Beauchamp says. “They’ve got a fun atmosphere and I like our seats. And of course when we’re winning and we’ve got some great players, it’s fun.”
