The Week Ahead... (Feb. 28)
What to Watch For...
Tuesday- Nashville @ Carolina Hurricanes
The Preds make two Eastern Conference stops on the road this week, beginning in Carolina against the Hurricanes on Tuesday. This will be the second match-up between these two teams this season. Nashville picked up the 5-2 win last month on a game-winning goal from Patric Hornqvist. Mike Fisher led the team with three points on the night. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Tennessee (Comcast HD 1675) with radio coverage on the Preds Radio Network including flagship station 102.5FM The Game. Puck drops at 7:00pm/CT.

Saturday- Nashville @ Florida Panthers
In their first and only meeting of the season, the Preds will travel to Florida to take on the Panthers on Saturday. The teams went 1-1-0 last season. In their win, goalie Anders Lindback picked up the shutout and Ryan Suter, Shea Weber and David Legwand all tallied for the Preds. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Tennessee (Comcast HD 1675) with radio coverage on the Preds Radio Network including flagship station 102.5FM The Game. Puck drops at 7:00pm/CT.
This Week...
The Preds opened the week with a busy Monday that netted a pair of trades (adding forwards Andrei Kostitsyn and Paul Gaustad) followed by an exciting 2-1 home win over the LA Kings. The Predators hit the road for the rest of the week before returning home to face the same Kings at home a week from today as well. The Preds are in Carolina tonight for a tilt against the Hurricanes. Nashville will then get a few days of rest before traveling to Florida to take on the Panthers on Saturday night.


Injury Report
  • Patric Hornqvist returned to the lineup on Saturday night after missing the previous 5 games with an upper body injury.
  • Kevin Klein missed Monday night's game and is listed as day-to-day.
  • Brian McGrattan has missed the past 9 games with an upper body injury.

The Week That Was...
The Preds earned points in all three games last week, posting a 2-0-1 record. Nashville started the week strong with a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday. David Legwand netted his first goal in 14 games at the 17:09 mark of the final frame. Hal Gill posted his first point as a Predator with the secondary assist on Sergei Kostitsyn’s shorthanded goal. Mike Fisher now has eight points (6g-2a) in six games against Vancouver as a Predator. Continuing on their home stand last week, the Preds picked up a point but lost in the shootout (3-2) to the St Louis Blues. Roman Josi registered his third goal of the season for his first point in 13 games. Jordin Tootoo notched the primary assist on Colin Wilson’s second-period marker. He has four assists in his last five games. The biggest win of the week came on Saturday night as the Preds picked up a 6-2 win over the San Jose Sharks. In the game, Nashville notched its first three-goal period of the month in the opening frame. David Legwand posted an assist on Shea Weber’ power play goal. He has three points in his last four games. With two helpers on the night, Jordin Tootoo has seven assists in his last eight games. Martin Erat netted Nashville’s 10th empty net goal of the season at 18:00 of the third.

Nine different Preds players scored a goal last week, with Colin Wilson and Shea Weber leading the way with two goals each, while the line of Martin Erat - Mike Fisher - Sergei Kostitsyn combined to post 3 goals and 7 assists in the three games. Pekka Rinne made the offensive output hold up by stopping 86-of-91 shots for a 1.62 goals against average and .945 save percentage.

Prospect of the Week...
Garrett Noonan -- A fourth round pick by the Nashville Predators in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Noonan has developed into one of the most dangerous offensive defensemen in College Hockey this season. He has 11 goals and 18 points in 31 games for Boston University this season, to go along with 58 penalty minutes and a +16 plus/minus rating. Noonan's 11 goalss are second highest among all NCAA defenseman this season.
