Every week throughout Bridgestone Arena's Anniversary Season, we will celebrate the Arena's 15 year partnership with the Middle Tennessee community.

15th Anniversary Reflections: Music City Becomes A Sports Hotbed

Bridgestone Arena has served as the catalyst to jump Nashville to the forefront of the national sports scene. The arena brought the NHL to Nashville and also allowed the city to lure major international and NCAA events. Over a 19 year period starting in 2001 and scheduled through 2019, Bridgestone Arena will serve as the host site to 12 SEC Basketball Tournaments, including this year's Women's Tournament and next year's Men's Tournament. The support of the SEC has helped the Arena become a regular fixture among NCAA Basketball host site rotation with the Men's Tournament returning to Bridgestone Arena this spring and the Women's Final Four arriving in 2014.

Mike Slive, Commissioner - SEC Conference
Over the first nine years of Mike Slive's tenure as Commissioner of the Southeastern Conference the SEC has emerged as the preeminent conference in college athletics, including entering a long-term partnership with Bridgestone Arena to host upcoming conference tournaments.

Fact Of The Week:

  • When the SEC Women’s Tournament last took place at Bridgestone Arena in 2008, it was the highest attended event in the 33-year history of the tournament with more than 51,000 fans passing through the turnstiles during that event, while the three SEC Men's Tournaments hosted at Bridgestone Arena (2001, 2006, and 2010) combined to produce nearly $41 million in cumulative economic impact for Nashville, including an $18.4 million boost to the city's enconomy during the 2010 event. is the official Web site of the Nashville Predators and are trademarks of the Nashville Predators.  NHL, the NHL Shield, the word mark and image of the Stanley Cup and NHL Conference logos are registered trademarks of the National Hockey League.
