Arena\'s 15th Anniversary: A Strong and Dynamic Downtown
Every week throughout Bridgestone Arena's Anniversary Season, we will celebrate the Arena's 15 year partnership with the Middle Tennessee community.

15th Anniversary Reflections: A Strong and Dynamic Downtown

Bridgestone Arena has anchored downtown Nashville's revitalization and paved the way for the construction of the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall, the new Country Music Hall of Fame home, LP Field, and the upcoming completion of the new City Center Convention Center. Nashville is not only one of the country's fastest growing metro areas -- both in population and economic impact -- but was rated as one of Kiplinger's Top-10 Value Cities in the US and has become one of the most desireable hometowns for power-players in the music and entertainment industry.

Mayor Karl Dean, Nashville Mayor
Karl Dean has been Mayor of Nashville since 2007 and has been instrumental in building the downtown corrodor around the Arena during his tenure, championing the relationship between Bridgestone Arena and the new City Center Convention Center set to open next year.

Fact Of The Week:

  • The emergence of the Arena as a staple to the downtown corrodor led to the annual CMA Music Festival Fan Fair to return to downtown Nashville in 2001 and expand to a major national event with both live and taped network television broadcast events. Last year's Fan Fair -- anchored by Bridgestone Arena on the West and Riverfront Park on the East -- brought in $30 million in economic impact to the Middle-Tennessee region.
