The Week Ahead... (Oct. 17)
What to Watch For...
Monday – Nashville at Edmonton
The Nashville Predators begin their first of two Western Canada swings tonight at Rexall Place, a venue they’ve posted an 8-1-1 record in since the start of the 2006-07 season. Ryan Suter led all Predators in points against Edmonton a season ago with three assists in four games and Patric Hornqvist has posted eight points in nine career games vs. the Oilers. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Tennessee with radio coverage on the Preds Radio Network including flagship station 102.5 The Game. Puck drops at 8:30pm/CT.

Thursday – Nashville at Vancouver
The Preds continue their Western Canada swing with a match-up against Western Conference rival Vancouver Canucks. Nashville went .500 against Vancouver last season, splitting the four match-ups 2-2. Martin Erat lead the team with four points over the four games. Thursday’s game will be televised on Sport South with radio coverage on the Preds Radio Network including flagship station 102.5 The Game. Puck drops at 9:00pm/CT.

Saturday – Nashville at Calgary
The Preds wrap up their three-game road trip with an early afternoon faceoff against the Calgary Flames. Nashville struggled to skate away with a win against the Flames last season, going 0-2-2 over the four match-ups. Forward Martin Erat, again, topped the points list over the four games. David Legwand matched Erat’s point total against the Flames with three. Saturday’s game will be televised on Fox Sports Tennessee with radio coverage on the Preds Radio Network including flagship station 102.5 The Game. Puck drops at 3:00pm/CT.
This Week...
The Nashville Predators head out on their first of two Western Conference swings of the season this week. Games start in Edmonton tonight with a tilt against the Oilers before heading to Vancouver on Thursday to take on the Canucks. The week wraps up on Saturday against the Calgary Flames with an afternoon game.

Injury Report
  • Francis Bouillon is week-to-week recovering from an upper body injury suffered last season. Bouillon returned to full practices last week and made the trip to Western Canada with the team.
  • Martin Erat is day-to-day with an upper body injury suffered in the Season Opener at Columbus, but did not make the trip to Western Canada with the team.
  • Mike Fisher is week-to-week after having off-season shoulder surgery. Fisher has begun full practices with the team, but did not make the trip to Western Canada with the team.
  • Patric Hornqvist missed one game last week with a lower body injury, but returned to the lineup for Saturday's game against New Jersey.

The Week That Was...
Nashville went 0-1-1 last week during their Opening Weekend in Smashville. On Thursday night during the home opener the Preds fell to Phoenix 5-2. One highlight from the game came from veteran forward David Legwand. Nashville has a total of nine goals in three games, and Legwand has a point in seven of them. On Saturday against the New Jersey Devils, Nashville jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead with goals by Colin Wilson and Jerred Smithson. A late flurry by New Jersey saw the game head to overtime, with New Jersey taking away the two points in the shootout.

Legwand’s assist on Wilson’s goal gave him a part in eight of Nashville’s 11 goals this season. Sergei Kostitsyn has an assist in each of Nashville’s four games.

Prospect of the Week...
Charles-Olivier Roussel -- A member of the organization's vaunted 2009 draft class, Roussel has started strong with five points and a +11 plus/minus rating in his first five games with Saint John.  Roussel ranks in the top-10 in the QMJHL in plus/minus during the early going and is also one of the few defensemen in the league averaging a point per game. Saint John is the defending QMJHL and Memorial Cup champs coached by former NHL player and head coach Gerard Gallant.
