Summer program takes the game off the ice and into the streets
As the school year draws to a close, the Nashville Predators Youth Marketing & Fan Development Department is gearing up for a summer full of youth programming – starting with the 2011 Hockey Rules Summerfest Tour presented by UnitedHealthcare.

Now in its sixth summer, the Hockey Rules Summerfest Tour presented by UnitedHealthcare is a free hockey education and interactive experience offered to middle Tennessee area sports camps from May to August. The concept is to create a setting where youth can be exposed to hockey in a fun, educational atmosphere. The street hockey clinics, geared towards campers ages 6 to 12, will focus on the basic fundamentals of hockey - stick handling, shooting and teamwork, and educates students on rules of the game and the importance of fitness through athletic participation. The Preds provide all necessary equipment and instruction at no charge.

During the academic year, Hockey Rules presented by UnitedHealthcare traveled to over 30 elementary and middle schools introducing more than 4,500 students to the Nashville Predators and the sport of hockey during physical education classes. Each summer the Hockey Rules Summerfest Tour reaches over 1,500 boys and girls at local day camps.
