Get Out And Learn! a great success
This past season the Nashville Predators hosted the fifth year of the widely popular Preds Get Out And Learn! (G.O.A.L!) free beginner hockey program designed for boys and girls ages 4 to 8 with no prior experience. Kids have an opportunity for parents to sign them up for the four-week sessions held year round at local rinks. Through a partnership with A-Game Sportsplex (Franklin) and Centennial Sportsplex (Nashville) the Preds are able to provide free skate rental and ice time to kids while the Preds provide the free rental equipment. Annually the program reaches over 400 new kids looking to try out the sport.

G.O.A.L! - Get Out And Learn
G.O.A.L! was designed as a way to make the sport of hockey and ice skating facilities more accessible to families wanting to get their kids involved. The Preds recognize the importance of kids participation in sports as it develops their confidence and establishes a healthy, active lifestyle. Registration is completely free, making the program ideal for any family.

The four-week ice sessions are ran in accordance with USA Hockey American Development Model which emphasizes age appropriate drills for maximum skill development and fun, (www.admkids.org). On-ice instructors include members of the Preds front office staff, Preds players, USA Hockey certified coaches and area high school hockey players who volunteer their time to give back to the community.

Graduates of the Preds G.O.A.L! program are encouraged to take the next step in their hockey development by signing up for an additional learn to skate or beginner hockey program at local rinks (www.goagame.com; www.nyhl.com). Since the launch of the Preds G.O.A.L! program in October 2006 over 1500 new kids have been introduced to the sport of ice hockey at no cost. This growth has attributed to a healthy showing of house and travel hockey participants across Middle Tennessee.
