Nashville Predators
NashvillePredators.com asked the team's star analysts to break down the first round of the 2011 Western Conference playoffs, with special emphasis on the Preds/Ducks series. Check out their predictions below.
| Tom Callahan | Terry Crisp | Pete Weber | |
| Preds/Ducks Series Prediction | Preds in 7 | Preds in a close series | Preds in 6 |
| Preds Player To Watch | Pekka Rinne Pekka has been stellar the entire regular season and will need to continue to do so. Any soft goals come playoff time can be killers, especially since the Preds will find them harder to come by in the post-season. |
Pekka Rinne He's Nashville's horse. He's the player who got them here. |
Pekka Rinne |
| Ducks Player To Watch | Teemu Selanne I think it will be Selanne, not the big three, who can make the difference in this playoff series. While Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan are formidable they will always have the top defensive matchup out there against them. Selanne, Koivu and Blake will be the secondary matchup and can do some real damage if they take advantage of chances. |
Ryan Getzlaf Corey Perry is the simple one -- 50 goal scorer -- but I'll tell you, the catalyst is Getzlaf. He is the quarterback of that hockey club. Perry's the goal scorer, Bobby Ryan's the skater, Getzlaf, he's the straw that stirs the drink. |
Dan Ellis |
| Unsung Player of the Series | Mike Fisher for Nashville Brad Winchester for Anaheim |
I don't think there's any unsung players for either team. It's going to have to be a team effort for both sides, though. | Jonathon Blum |
| Vancouver/Chicago Prediction | Vancouver in 5 | Vancouver in 7 | Vancouver in 5 |
| San Jose/Los Angeles Prediction | San Jose in 5 | San Jose in 6 | San Jose in 6 |
| Detroit/Phoenix Prediction | Phoenix in 7 | Detroit in 6 | Detroit in 7 |
| Which team will represent the East in the Cup Finals | Boston Bruins | Philadelphia Flyers | Boston Bruins |
