In addition to the Preds Cup Championship in Nashville on Feb. 27, a secondary, non-national bound Preds Cup Tournament – the Blue Division – will be held March 19-20, 2011 at Cool Sports in Knoxville, TN. The Preds Cup – Blue Division Tournament will feature high school teams invited from Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville.
The Preds Cup serves as a platform to highlight the top Tennessee high school hockey teams, as well as a community outreach initiative supported by the Predators. The Nashville Predators established the Preds Cup during the 1999-00 season as part of the team’s mission to increase the visibility of hockey on the amateur level in Tennessee. Since then, seven teams from greater Nashville and three teams from Memphis have won the Cup. In 2008, the Preds Cup had its first back-to-back champion in the JP II Knights.
