Nashville Tenn. (February 16, 2011) – From coaching hockey clinics to reading to youth to teaching German class, the Nashville Predators will be out and about in the community today, Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Kicking off the philanthropy will be defenseman Alexander Sulzer, who will be appearing at Brentwood High School to teach a German class. Sulzer will be interacting with the students in his native German tongue as well as taking pictures and signing autographs for students in attendance.

Defenseman Kevin Klein will make a stop at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to participate in a photo shoot for Flashes of Hope, a national nonprofit organization that changes the way children with cancer see themselves through the gift of photography and raises money for pediatric cancer research.

Also out and about will be forwards Joel Ward and Colin Wilson and mascot GNASH. They will participate in a Stick to Reading event at Holy Rosary Academy. Ward, Wilson and GNASH will be reading books, signing autographs and answering questions for all in attendance. Through the Stick to Reading program, the Nashville Predators encourage learning and reading to students in elementary schools.

Closing out the day will be goaltender Anders Lindback and forward Nick Spaling, who will participate in a Nashville Predators/USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM) clinic at Centennial Sportsplex for approximately 60 Termite House players (ages 4-8). This free clinic is designed to support and develop youth hockey within the community.
