Ellis, Canada Top Switzerland, Move On To Semifinals
Preds prospect Ryan Ellis (2009 Entry Draft) set up Team Canada's first goal as the Canadian squad rallied from an early deficit to beat Team Switzerland 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Junior Championships. With the win, Canada advances to tomorrow's semifinals against Team USA.

Swtizerland stunned Canada with an early first period goal and maintained the lead until Ellis triggered Ryan Johansen's power-play tally late in the first frame. The Canadians took the lead midway through the second frame and added an early third period goal before closing the scoring with an empty-net tally.

Ellis, Team Canada's captain for the tournament, has two goals and nine points in five games to lead all defensemen in scoring. His 24 career points are also the most by a defenseman in World Junior Championship history, a record Ellis set earlier this tournament.

Preds prospect Patric Cehlin (2010 Entry Draft) and Team Sweden will face the winner of tonight's Team Finland/Team Russia game in the other semifinal tomorrow. Cehlin has three goals and five points in four games during the tournament, first on the team in points and tied for first in goals. He was also named Sweden's Player of the Game after the Tournament opener.

The winners of tomorrow's semifinal games will meet Wednesday night for the Gold Medal Game. The two losing teams will meet earlier on Wednesday in the Bronze Medal Game.
