Cehlin Saves Sweden in Match-Up vs Canada
Preds prospect Patrick Cehlin (2010 Entry Draft) scored the game-tying third goal with 8:17 remaining in regulation to force overtime as Team Sweden edged Team Canada in a shootout on Friday (6-5, 2-0 shootout conversions), the final game of Preliminary Round action at the 2011 World Junior Championships. With the win Team Sweden claimed first place in Pool B and earned a bye into the semifinals. Team Canada finished in second place in Pool B and will face Switzerland in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

Cehlin has three goals and five points in four games during the tournament, first on the team in points and tied for first in goals. He was also named Sweden's Player of the Game after the Tournament opener.

Preds 2009 First Round pick Ryan Ellis is serving as Team Canada's captain in the tournament. Ellis was held scoreless in the game, but finished the Preliminary Round with two goals and eight points. The eight points are tied for second in the tournament, trailing only Canadian forward Brayden Schenn. With his eight points, Ellis now has 23 points in his World Junior career, the most by any defenseman in tournament history, surpassing the old mark formerly held by Team Finland great Reijo Routsalainen.

In other action on Friday, Team USA beat Team Switzerland, 2-1, to claim first place in Pool A. The US advances to the semifinal round to face the winner of Sunday's Canada/Switzerland quarterfinal. Finland and Russia will meet in Sunday's other quarterfinal match-up with the winner advancing to face Sweden.
