Preds Players Spread Holiday Cheer Across Middle Tennessee
Nashville Tenn. (December 16, 2010) – With the holiday season in full swing, Nashville Predators players will take time out from their hectic playing schedules to spread a little holiday cheer this Monday, Dec. 20.

Nashville Predators players J-P Dumont, Kevin Klein, Pekka Rinne, Jerred Smithson and Colin Wilson will pay a visit to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt on Monday from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The players will go room-to-room visiting patients, signing autographs and taking photos.

Then from 3-4 p.m. forwards Cal O’Reilly and Nick Spaling and mascot GNASH will stop by the Gordon Jewish Community Center in Nashville to participate in a Nashville Predators Street Pride Program clinic for approximately 60 kids (ages 6-16). This free clinic, presented by UnitedHealth Care, is a League-wide street hockey program in which teams partner with youth community centers to donate free street hockey equipment, staff training and follow-up clinics – emphasizing that all kids need to play hockey are sneakers, breaking down any socio-economic barriers associated with the sport. O’Reilly and Spaling, alongside Predators Amateur & Youth Hockey staff, will serve as guest instructors and hang around after the clinic for an autograph signing and photo opportunity.

Closing out the day will be Predators defensive duo Ryan Suter and Shea Weber. Suter and Weber will host a holiday party at Centennial Sportsplex from 6-8 p.m. for families from Middle Tennessee charity organizations 23rd Judicial District Child Advocacy Center, Against the Grain, Men of Valor, Youth Life Learning Center and Youth Encouragement Services. The players have generously provided gifts, free skating opportunities, food and beverages for all in attendance. There will also be appearances by Santa and GNASH – who will help distribute gifts to the families.

Throughout the season, Nashville Predators players will make several more appearances in the community. Log on to nashvillepredators.com for the most up-to-date information.

The December 20 events are closed to the general public; players subject to change without notice.
