The Preds will host three intra-squad scrimmages during the first week of Training Camp. The first will take place today between Team White and Team Silver (click here for rosters). Team Silver will match-up against Team Blue tomorrow and then Team Blue and Team White will wrap up the scrimmages on Tuesday. All three scrimmages will start at Noon at Centennial Sportsplex.

And we're done with the first scrimmage of camp. Team White wins with a third period flurry. Most of the guys you would expect to standout -- Lombardi, Sullivan, Suter, Goc -- did what they were expected to do. Among the lesser experienced players, Flynn had a strong showing. Josi got off to a good start, but was dinged up in the first period (Coach Trotz indicated in his post-practice media session that the injury wasn't too serious, but Josi will likely be held out of tomorrow's scrimmage as a precaution).

1:48 pm CT
Final goalie change of the scrimmage. Lindback enters for Silver; Pickard slides down the ice for White. Dekanich is wrapped up for the scrimmage.

1:42 pm CT
Team White pouring it on. Sullivan with the goal this time, set up by Lombardi; Flynn the other forward on the ice for White on that shift. Good day for those three guys.

1:37 pm CT
Team White scores on back-to-back rushes. The "college trio" of Flynn-Wilson-Geoffrion combine for the first (Wilson with the goal). Then Lombardi with a nice move on the entry rush a few seconds later.

1:36 pm CT
Goalie change. Pickard in net for Team Silver. Dekanich slides down the ice for Team White.

1:28 pm CT
Dekanich (Team Silver) and Lindback (Team White) get the nod for the third period. Dekanich has been impressive so far today.

1:20 pm CT
Nick Spaling ties the score 3-3 with seconds left in the middle period. Colin Wilson had the puck in the corner, Spaling and Wade Belak both cut to the front of the net. Wilson hit Spaling with the pass and Spaling snapped it home.

1:06 pm CT
Big glove save by Pickard to deny Lombardi. Good shift by Lombard-Sullivan-Flynn to create the dangerous scoring chance. Lombard and Sullivan have been dangerous together during the scrimmage – the type of showing you would expect from a pair of skilled veterans.

Team White has had the bulk of the quality opportunities, but Team Silver has been more economical with their chances and still lead 3-2 midway through the second period.

1:01 pm CT
Team Silver takes back the lead, 3-2. Marcel Goc with a nice move on a partial break. Must say, score aside, Flynn is having a strong period here for Team White; scored the goal early and has had several strong shifts.

12:58 pm CT
Goalie change again. Pickard slides into the goal for Team Silver; Dekanich re-enters for Team White; Lindback gets a rest. Looks like Lindback will get another “shift” in the third period.

12:49 pm CT
Period 2 just underway. Ryan Flynn ties the game with an impressive wrap-around backhander. Flynn and Sullivan made nice plays behind the net to create the chance.

12:41 pm CT
Team Silver takes back the lead. Grant Lewis accidentally banked a pass attempt off the back of his own goaltender.

12:40 pm CT
Nice back-to-back saves by Lindback denying Spaling and Flynn during a scrum in front of the net.

12:38 pm CT
Team White ties the score, 1-1. Mark Santorelli with a deflection off Scott Ford's shot from the point.

12:34 pm CT
Goalie change -- Lindback moves to Team Silver and Chet Pickard goes in to goal for Team White. Dekanich takes a rest -- good first "shift" for Dekanich -- he'll be back in again later.

12:30 pm CT
Dekanich stops Matt Halischuk on a penalty shot (doing penalty shots instead of power-plays in the scrimmage). Nice move by Halischuk, but Dekanich got just enough of the puck to deflect it wide.

12:23 pm CT
Team Silver gets on the board first. Broken play; looked like Jerred Smithson with the goal (working to confirm). Roman Josi (Team Silver) is off to a good start. Looks very comfortable in all three zones.

The shift before the goal, Team White had solid sustained pressure with the line of Martin Erat - Matt Lombardi - Steve Sullivan creating a couple of good scoring chances.

12:13 pm CT
Mark Dekanich (for Team Silver) and Anders Lindback (for Team White) getting the start in net today. Looks like Chet Pickard will work into the mix today, too.
