Preds win the shootout 2-0 to sweep the activities for the second day. Josi and Bourque converted in the shootout for the Preds.

Good showing by the Nashville Rookie Squad; won the games by a combined 10-1 margin and took both shootouts (2-1 and 2-0). Beck paced the Preds Rookies in both goals (3) and points (4) during the two games. Ellis, Geoffrion, and Mueller each chipped in three points during the games.

And the game has gone final, 5-1 Preds Rookies. Corey Durocher redirected a shot past Chet Pickard for the Panthers goal late in regulation. All five Preds goals came against highly touted Florida goalie prospect Jacob Markstrom.

Lindback picks up the win in net for the Predators; didn't surrender a goal in either of his appearances against the Panthers. Thang with the game-winner today. Multi-point games today for Beck (one goal, one assist), Mueller (two goals), and Watson (two assists).

1:02 pm CT
Taylor Beck with his third goal of the series gives the Preds a 5-0 lead in Period 3. Strong individual effort by Beck; got hooked, but slid the puck into the net as he was falling.

12:28 pm CT
With 5.4 second left in the second period Blake Geoffrion dropped the gloves with big Florida defenseman Erik Gudbranson. Completes the "Gordie Howe hat trick" for Geoffrion in the Rookie Series (recorded the assist and goal part in last night's game). Evenly fought tilt; good to see the Preds skill prospects showing some physical elements.

4-0 Nashville entering the second intermission.

12:07 pm CT
Fortuitous bounce off the endboards leads to another goal for the Preds; lead is now up to 4-0. Gabriel Bourque ('09 Fifth Round pick) with the goal; assists to Michael Latta ('09 Third Round pick) and Ryan Flynn ('06 Sixth Round pick).

11:58 am CT
Make it 3-0 for Nashville. Quick goal less than one minute into Period 2. Mueller capped off a pretty two-on-one rush with Roman Josi ('09 Second Round pick). Watson made a nice play in the defensive zone to start the play, his second assist of the afternoon. Josi joined the outlet from his defensive position; he and Mueller passed the puck back-and-forth down the ice before Mueller converted with a tap-in goal.

11:42 am CT
Preds rookies off to a fast start in today's game with a 2-0 lead after one period of play. Chris Mueller (Camp Invitee) scored the game's opening goal off assists from Austin Watson ('10 First Round pick) and Mark Santorelli ('07 Fourth Round pick). Watson and Santorelli did a good job of working the puck down low in the offensive zone before finding Mueller out front; Mueller burried the pass inside the short-side post.

Ryan Thang ('07 Third Round pick) scored in transition to make the score 2-0. Ryan Ellis ('09 First Round pick) triggered the breakout with an outlet pass to Thang. Taylor Beck ('09 Third Round pick) earned the other assist on the play. Beck is quickly making a name for himself in the Rookie Series with three points in the first four periods of action (two goals last night, one assist already in today's game).

Starting Line-ups Announced
Nashville: Anders Lindback in goal; Jonathon Blum & Roman Josi on defense; Ryan Flynn, Michael Latta, & Gabriel Bourque at forward
Florida: Jacob Markstrom in goal; Erik Gudbranson & Colby Robak on defense; AJ Jenks, Josh Birkholz, & John McFarland at forward

Interesting goaltending match-up at the start; Lindback and Markstrom were teammates in Brynas (Swedish Elite League) two seasons ago. Markstrom opened the year as the No. 1, but Lindback earned the nod come playoff time. They were also teammates with Team Sweden at this year's World Championships.
