Preds Win 3 Medals at World Championships
Three Preds picked up medals at the 2010 World Championships with defenseman Denis Grebeshkov earning a silver medal to Team Russia and prospects Jonas Andersson (forward) and Anders Lindback (goaltender) picking up bronze medals. Germany, captained by Marcel Goc and featuring Robert Dietrich and Alexander Sulzer on defense, was the surprise of the tournament finishing fourth, its highest placement since the tournament adopted its current format in 1992.

Andersson scored a pair of goals in Sweden's 3-1 Bronze Medal game, netting the game-winning goal 3:57 into the third period and sealing the game with an empty-netter at the 19:27 mark of the third. A 1999 second round pick by the Preds (played five NHL games in '01-02), Andersson scored six goals in the tournament, just one shy of the tournament lead.

Marcel Goc and Pekka Rinne were both named among the three best players for their team as selected by their respective coaches. Rinne finished with a 1.68 goals against average and .929 save percentage in four starts. Goc scored two of Germany's 13 goals during the tournament and led all team forwards in ice time (16:50 per game).
