PREDATORS’ COACH BARRY TROTZ FEATURED IN FOX SPORTS TENNESSEE ORIGINAL PRODUCTION
30-Minute All-Access Special Debuts Monday, March 9 at 9 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Tennessee after Predators’ Game against the Thrashers at 6 p.m. CT

FOX Sports Tennessee today announced the debut of Under the Lights: Barry Trotz, a 30-minute all-access special spotlighting the Nashville Predators’ coach and his game-day routine before a home contest against the Detroit Red Wings. Under the Lights: Barry Trotz debuts Monday, March 9 at 9 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Tennessee after the Predators’ game against the Atlanta Thrashers at 6 p.m. CT.

Under the Lights: Barry Trotz follows the Predators’ coach through his typical day-of-game routine, from watching tape before morning skate at Bridgestone Arena to a team meeting with the coaching staff to breakdown their opponent and a pre-game workout after lunch. Trotz also introduces viewers to his wife and children, including eight-year-old Nolan, who has Down syndrome. A wireless microphone worn by Trotz during the game against the Red Wings provides unique insight into the emotion and intensity of an NHL match up and how the coach leads his team through a game.

Under the Lights: Barry Trotz has additional airings on March 11 at 9 p.m. CT, March 12 at 8:30 p.m. CT, March 14 at 1:30 p.m. CT, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. CT and March 21 at 4 p.m. CT.

Barry Trotz on his son, Nolan
“My youngest, who is eight, he has Down syndrome. He’s the one thing that I would say has really been a blessing to our family. The thing that we found out is that a child with disabilities is purely love, and that’s missing in this world a little bit too often. We’re the lucky ones to have Nolan.”

Trotz on playing the Detroit Red Wings
“Our first playoff appearance ended up being against the Red Wings, so it’s been a little bit of a rivalry. Usually we’re pretty motivated for the Red Wings and there’s still a lot of Detroit attachment to the people that moved down here from Detroit. It’s funny, we’ve converted a lot of those people; they call themselves ‘PredWings.’ So when we score they’ve got their Predator jersey on, when they score they take our jersey off and have a Red Wing jersey on underneath.”

Trotz on the Predators’ schedule
“This year I don’t think you’re going to get a break. There’s not a team that you can say we can wrap down our game a little bit and still win. You can’t do that anymore in this league. I think it’s going to be a dog fight right to the end.”
