On January 30 the Nashville Predators and Vanderbilt University Medical Center teamed up once again to host the second of two benefit nights this season, raising money and awareness for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The night was designated a “Nashville Predators Care for Kids” game night – where 25 percent of every single-game ticket sold, 100 percent of the silent-auction proceeds and any cash donations received were donated back to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in support of the Vanderbilt Childhood Cancer Program.

Special initiatives from the night included special Predators and Vanderbilt merchandise up for bid at the silent auction table; the Ford Fund Donation, in which Ford donated $250 (up to $5,000) for every Predators save on Saturday night to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt; Hockey Fights Cancer team-autographed hats; J .P. Dumont’s suite, Dumont’s Den, hosted pediatric cancer families – who received a post game meet-and-greet; and much more.

Vanderbilt and the Predators first became strategic partners when they joined forces in the summer of 2008 – with Vanderbilt signing on as the Predator’s integrated health care provider. Vanderbilt has long been a prominent fixture within the community as has been noted for its continued medical excellence and efforts to help its young patients. The Nashville Predators Foundation – whose efforts are also youth-oriented – jumped at the chance to help raise money for the Children’s Hospital.

This is the second consecutive season the Nashville Predators and Vanderbilt University Medical Center have teamed up to host benefit nights in support of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. These events have raised more than $100,000 since last season.
