2009 Predators Foundation Golf Tournament A Success

The Nashville Predators recently spent a day on the links at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin at the 12th Annual First Tennessee Dr. Mac Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament - which was renamed in 2004 in honor of the late Dr. James McPherson, who served as the Predators' dentist from 1998-2004 - raised more than $50,000 for the Nashville Predators Foundation.
The tournament featured 32 Predators players providing a fifth shot to all 33 golfing foursomes. More than 130 golfers spent the day interacting with members of the Nashville Predators organization including players, coaches and executives. The tournament, which was a scramble format, began with a shotgun start and concluded with an awards ceremony.

The event also featured the first ever hole-in-one in the history of the First Tennessee Dr. Mac Memorial Golf Tournament, sunk by Brandon Burris.
All funds raised from the tournament benefited the Nashville Predators Foundation. The Nashville Predators Foundation strives to meet the educational, social, health and cultural needs of the community by offering unique resources and financial support to local youth-oriented organizations. The Foundation has awarded more than $2 million since its establishment in 1998.
