"Preds Care for Kids" Check Presentation
J.P. Dumont Visits the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt
The Nashville Predators presented a check in excess of $120,000 in donations to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt today on the small stage at the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The donation is a result of the efforts from the “Predators Care for Kids” game nights held this past season.

On these Preds Care for Kids nights, 25 percent of every single-game ticket sold and, additionally, 100 percent of the silent-auction proceeds were donated back to the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Donations were also collected at all Sommet Center entrances before the game and throughout the building during the game. Additionally, donations were made online through J.P. Dumont and Martin Erat’s involvement with Garth Brooks’ Teammates for Kids charity—which matched 100 percent of all online donations.

Accepting the donation on behalf of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt was Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Kevin B. Churchwell, M.D.

Vanderbilt and the Predators first became strategic partners when they joined forces last summer—with Vanderbilt signing on as the Predator’s integrated health care provider. Vanderbilt has long been a prominent fixture within the community and has been recognized for its continued medical excellence and efforts to help its young patients.

“The ‘Preds Care for Kids’ benefit nights were a great fit for our partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center,” Predators President of Business Operations Ed Lang said. “Both organizations focus their efforts on the well-being of area youth and we are thrilled to be supporting the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. We look forward to growing our partnership and for this to be the first of many joint fundraising efforts to come.”

Over the years, Predators players and team mascot GNASH have made numerous visits to patients at the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and most recently, the Predators prospects made a special visit to the hospital’s young patients this past Friday. Some players have even taken a special interest in the cause; Predators forwards J.P. Dumont and Martin Erat sponsor suites for Preds home games that are made available to Children’s Hospital patients and their families.

Presenting the check for the Nashville Predators was President of Business Operations Ed Lang. Also in attendance at the event were Predators forward J.P. Dumont, Predators mascot GNASH and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt mascot Champ.

After the presentation, JP Dumont spent time going room to room, visiting the young patients of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
