The Nashville Predators 2009 Hot Shots Summerfest Tour kicked off in style this past week with Predators Youth and Amateur Hockey Staff and mascot GNASH stopping by Christ Centered Ministries at the Cleveland Community Center in East Nashville and Youth Encouragement Services St. Luke’s Center in Nashville to teach kids the basics of street hockey and host a pizza party sponsored by Papa John’s and Pepsi.

This traveling street hockey tour – put on by Predators Youth and Amateur Hockey Department – visits several youth camps and hockey events throughout the summer. The Nashville Predators provide all necessary equipment for participation including, nets, goalie equipment, sticks and ‘no bounce’ balls. The free and fun-filled clinics are designed to provide kids with basic knowledge of street hockey – from stick handling to passing and shooting – and ending with a hockey scrimmage which allows the kids to showcase their new skills.

This is the fourth year the Predators have hosted the Hot Shots Summerfest Tour and more than 60 Middle Tennessee camps and events have been visited in the process. The Predators will reach out to several more camps this summer including: Special Kids, Camp Horizon and Sumner County YMCA Street Hockey Camp. For a complete listing of this year’s Hot Shots Summerfest locations and for more information please visit our Hot Shots Page.
