Preds Active With Local Boy & Girls Clubs
On Monday, February 23 the Predators welcomed the fourth Boys and Girls Club Middle Tennessee center to the Street Pride program this season. Boys and Girls Club Franklin/ Williamson County was treated to a clinic featuring Predators players Radek Bonk and Antti Pihlstrom and Predators mascot GNASH. The center received a complete set of street hockey equipment from the Predators to begin their own hockey program. Earlier in the month, Kevin Klein along with Gnash visited the Andrew Jackson Boys and Girls Club to upstart their street hockey program. Kevin shared his hockey background and then showed the kids different skills and finally played in a full street hockey game. Along with these two clubs centers Thompson Lane and Vine Hill also participate in the Street Pride program.

The NHL has organized a league-wide street hockey program to serve local community centers by providing an athletic and educational program free of charge. Open to kids 6-16, the Preds partner with local community centers to provide street hockey equipment, training and follow-up clinics through the Street Pride program. Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee’s mission is to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens and to promote the social, educational, health, leadership and character development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth.

The Nashville Predators would like to invite community centers, schools and other youth groups to consider becoming a part of this program. Participating in the Preds Street Pride program gives youth the chance to play the game in communities throughout Tennessee. Today, more than one million kids aged 6-16 across North America have participated in NHL Street.
