\"Preds Care for Kids\" Benefit Night To Feature Unique Silent-Auction Items
Nashville, Tenn. (February 17, 2009) – The Predators announced today the silent-auction items for the “Preds Care for Kids” benefit night on Thursday, February 19 vs. division-rival St. Louis Blues. Both the Predators and Vanderbilt University Medical Center joined together to contribute many unique and exciting items for fans to bid on – with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated back to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

WHEN: Thursday, February 19 vs. division-rival St. Louis Blues

Sommet Center, silent-auction table, located outside of section 120.

NOTES:
Silent Auction Items Include
  • Vanderbilt LifeFlight Ride Along: Winner will join two experienced flight nurses and a pilot to see what Vanderbilt LifeFlight has to offer to the people of Middle Tennessee. The winner will experience a day of excitement, soaring the skies in the most state-of-the-art aircraft in the Air Medical Industry and finding out what it is like to provide emergency care in the flight environment
  • VUMC Sponsored Hot Air Balloon Ride: Winner and a guest will take to the skies for a hot air balloon ride in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center hot air balloon. Departure/landing location TBD.
  • 2008-2009 Western Conference All-Star Jersey signed by Shea Weber.
  • Bench Seats to the March 5 game vs. Columbus: includes four seats between the benches, pre-game dinner in the suite-level club, game-used pucks and a premium-seat gift.
  • Autographed Jersey by the Tampa Bay Rays’ David Price: All-SEC, All-American, SEC Pitcher and Male Athlete of the Year in 2007.
  • A bat signed by Florida Marlins All-star second-baseman Dan Uggla.
  • An autographed game-worn helmet from Dan Ellis custom designed for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
  • Bass Fishing Trip: Winner will enjoy a day of bass fishing, learn some tricks of the trade and join Jeff Baker, head of the fishing team for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and award winning professional angler. Jeff competes on the FLW Tour and is a part of many regional tournaments. He will provide an informational and entertaining day on the lake. No fishing experience required.

Donations can also be made online through J.P. Dumont and Martin Erat’s involvement with Garth Brooks’ Teammates for Kids charity—which will match 100% of all online donations. Laptops will be set up on the main concourse across from the silent-auction table on game night for the purpose of collecting donations. Teammates for kids is an innovative foundation which partners with athletes, celebrities, organizations and fans to create and execute inventive concepts that generate funds for the benefit of children's charities. The first “Predators Care for Kids” benefit night was held on December 4 and was met with great success; the upcoming benefit night on February 19 is expected to be even more successful. The Predators set a two-game goal of raising $100K to be donated to the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and are well on their way to reaching that mark thanks to the generous contributions from its fans. The Predators hope to make this initiative an annual event.
