On Tuesday, December 16, the Nashville Predators Foundation presented $30,000 in donations - $10,000 each to Bethlehem Centers of Nashville, Safe Haven’s Mending Heart’s Program and St. Luke’s Community House - to benefit each organization’s holiday-focused programs and initiatives. The donations were presented specifically in support of the varied holiday programs these organizations provide. Making sure these charities can continue with their valuable holiday and community work is especially important to the Nashville Predators Foundation this holiday season.

“This is a unique opportunity for the Predators Foundation to assist these three very important organizations which provide valuable and necessary assistance to those in need,” Predators Foundation President Gerry Helper said. “Our foundation has worked with each of these organizations in the past and continues to be impressed with their commitment and passion. We know that these contributions will help them continue their work, especially as we enter the holiday period.”

Bethlehem Centers Safe Haven St. Luke's Community House Predators Foundation

Bethlehem Centers of Nashville is an organization committed to promoting positive life choices and self-reliance by advocating and delivering quality programs and services. Bethlehem has been providing social services to Middle Tennessee children, youth and adults for 114 years. The primary holiday initiative for Bethlehem Centers is The Toy Store at Bethlehem. Volunteers decorate the gymnasium to resemble an actual retail store and guide financially-struggling parents through the store to where they may select toys/clothing items for each child who has been pre-registered. Before exiting, parents are provided with wrapping paper and bows to wrap the toys to be put under their own trees.

Safe Haven is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping homeless families with children together and assisting them to live independently through financial, social, and faith-based guidance. Safe Haven functions through the contributions of Guardian Angels—individuals or groups such as the Predators Foundation—who invest in the success of one of Safe Haven’s homeless families through the Mending Hearts program. Through Safe Haven, Guardian Angels will provide a warm bed and meals for families, children’s enrollment in public schools, comprehensive and family-specific programs and many other supportive investments.

St. Luke’s Community House is a charity whose mission is to help low-income working families, seniors and individuals in West Nashville to achieve their potential and prevent problems that threaten the security of family and community. St. Luke’s runs many holiday programs which need the support of organizations like the Predators Foundation. Among these initiatives are the Adopt-A-Family program, which exists through the generous contributions of families, individuals, businesses, and congregations. St. Luke's matches donors with low-income West Nashville families and seniors to help fulfill many of the items or needs as stated on the family’s ‘wish list.’ Also featured is the Mobile Meals program—which serves home-bound residents and seniors with hot nutritious meals daily.

The Predators Foundation has presented over $2 million in financial grants and donations since its 1998 inception. Additionally, the foundation has provided in-kind donation, including memorabilia and tickets, to many organizations and fund-raising events. The Predators Foundation strives to meet the needs of the community by offering unique resources and financial support to local youth-oriented organizations.
