Preds "Stick to Reading" Visits Sam Houston Elementary

Nashville Predators player Jed Ortmeyer, Predators radio play-by-play Tom Callahan and mascot GNASH participated in a “Stick to Reading = Succeeding” assembly, produced by Powerhouse Youth Project, on Wednesday Oct 29.  The students at Sam Houston Elementary, in Lebanon, participated in a Stick to Reading spelling bee where Jed and Tom served as team captains.

The Predators and Lochinvar are in their third season of the “Stick to Reading = Succeeding” program for elementary school children in Wilson County. Stick to Reading = Succeeding” features the All-Star Reading Challenge, an incentive program in which students receive prizes for reading books. As part of the “Stick to Reading = Succeeding” program, GNASH and a Predators player or broadcaster make monthly visits (through February) to schools in Wilson County.
