Vern Fiddler and Ryan Suter
brought hockey to the streets to the Franklin residential development of Sullivan Farms to inform everyone that a brand new Predators hockey season was around the corner. The players were on hand to play some street hockey and meet some real big Predators fans that they heard were in the area. Predators assistant coach Peter Horachek was on hand to survey the action from his home turf, as resident of Sullivan Farms. Gnash also stopped in to wish everyone a happy hockey season.
Fiddler and Suter jumped on to teams with the neighborhood children, one on each team. Skill level seemed to very high on both sides as they played at a furious pace. Parents and siblings rooted on the action from around the cul-de-sac. After the games, Fiddler, Suter, and Coach Horachek met with the neighborhood children to answer questions and sign autographs.
Taking Hockey to the Streets is a grassroots initiative in which members of the Nashville Predators make unannounced visits to neighborhoods where kids routinely gather to play street hockey. The program will give young fans an exciting opportunity to interact with members of the Predators organization, players, coaches, mascot and/ or broadcast team.
