Daily Recap - Thursday, Sept. 25 - Training Camp Day 7
With the the preseason opener scheduled for tonight, the team was split into two sessions, a pre-game morning skate for the group dressing tonight and full practice session for the remainder of the players.
In the practice session, the team ran through drills, working primarily on situational play, including extensive time on work coming out of the corner.
Cal O'Reilly, injured in informal sessions before the start of training camp, made his debut in practice today. Jerred Smithson, who had missed the past few days of practice, also returned to on-ice drills with the team.

On his first training camp with the Predators...
"The atmosphere'’s, been real high energy, real positive. Everybody communicates. I think that’'s been the biggest difference that I’'ve noticed. This is a first class organization."
On the start of the preseason game schedule...
"Actually, that'’s my goal, to come in and get some games in. I think that'’s where I’m going to shine the most. I'’ve been looking forward to those all summer, so that'’s what I’ve been working for; to give my self a chance to make this team. I feel like I’'ve been getting better each day with camp and I feel good with the situation."
On the strengths to his game...
"I just play good defense. I get the puck in deep and forecheck, play high energy. I believe I do a good job blocking shots. I can kill penalties. Just step in and be physical all around."
