The teams played three 30:00 running time periods, with a shootout following each period. Team Blue controlled the play for most of the scrimmage, out-scoring Silver 4-1 during game play, but Team Silver won all three shootouts to earn the extra point after each frame.

Dan Ellis started in net for Blue and Pekka Rinne got the start for Silver. Rinne was outstanding keeping Team Blue off the scoreboard for the first frame, including a pair of odd-man rushes from Dumont. Almost nine minutes into the scrimmage, Rinne robbed Jerred Smithson from in close to keep the game scoreless.

Team Silver opened the scoring with 7:40 remaining in the first when Scott Nichol banked home a centering feed from Triston Grant. Grant came down the left wing in transition and centered the puck to Nichol, who beat the defenseman to the center slot area.

Ville Koistinen extended the Team Silver lead to 2-0 by converting his shooutout attempt with a nice backhand move, the lone conversion in the first shootout. Ellis made a glove save on Martin Erat's attempt and Jason Arnott rang his shot off the crossbar. On the other end, Rinne stopped Dumont's attempt and then turned aside five-hole attempts from Rich Peverley and Radek Bonk.

Team Blue answered back in the second period. Dumont scored the first of his goal 4:40 into the middle frame. Patric Hornqvist carried the puck behind the net to the far side faceoff dot and then saucered a cross ice feed to Dumont below the facoff circle. Dumont one-timed a shot inside the near post.

Shea Weber tied the game at 2-2 just 2:30 later with a shot from the right faceoff dot. Michael Ryan created the opportunity by outracing the defense to negate an icing. Ryan tipped the puck over to Ryan Jones behind the net. Jones found Weber coming down the right wing for his first goal of Training Camp.

Team Silver regained the lead by taking the shootout point at the end of the period. Scott Nichol and Vern Fiddler converted their attempts for the 2-0 shootout win.

Ian McKenzie re-tied the score at 3-3 early in the third frame. Dumont gave Team Blue its first lead of the game with 3:40 remaining, converting a feed from Peverley. Team Silver earned the tie with a 1-0 shootout win due to Nick Spaling's deke move conversion.

Notebook:
Team Blue forward combinations: Peverley-Dumont-Hornqvist; Legwand-Jones-M. Ryan; Bonk-Pihlstrom-Ward; Smithson-Mi. Santorelli-Gratton/McKenzie ... Team Silver forward combinations: Arnott-Fiddler-Ma. Santorelli; Spaling-Erat-Tootoo; Nichol-Grant-K. Wilson; Werner-Maki-Thuresson; Peters-Buck ... Each team rotated defensive pairings ... Team Blue went with Ellis in net for the first period, followed by Dekanich and Smith ... Team Silver went with Rinne in net for the first period, followed by MacIntyre and Pickard ... The line of Peverley centering Dumont and Hornqvist was the most effective pairing in the scrimmage, creating more dangerous scoring opportunities than any other combination ... The line of Legwand centering Jones and Ryan was also effective throughout much of the scrimmage ... Gratton and Wilson dropped the gloves 10:20 into the first period for the lone fight of the scrimmage ... Tootoo and Hornqvist jousted with each other in the corner midway through the third period. Tootoo was called for a roughing penalty after retaliating for a Hornqvist hit along the boards.

Team Rosters:
Rosters remained the same as Saturday.
