Predators, FSN South Announce 2008-09 Broadcast Schedule
Nashville, Tenn. (September 3, 2008) – The National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators and the team’s television broadcast partner FSN South announced today that the network will televise 55 Nashville Predators regular-season games this season, including 36 of 41 road games and 19 home contests from the Sommet Center. The telecasts will reach more than 3.3 million viewers across Tennessee, Kentucky and northern portions of Alabama and Mississippi. Of the 55 game telecasts, 22 will be available in high definition.

Calling all the Predators action on FSN South will play-by-play announcer Pete Weber and color analyst Terry Crisp. The Predators return to a split broadcast format in 2008-09, separating the television and radio productions to better cater to both audiences. Also debuting this season, FSN South will air Predators LIVE, an extensive postgame show featuring player interviews and coaches’ press conferences following each game telecast. Predators’ players and personnel will also be prominently featured on original FSN South programs.

The first FSN South broadcast of the season is the Predators’ regular-season opener on Friday, October 10 at St. Louis (7:30 p.m. CT). Other highlights from FSN South’s 2008-09 coverage include all six games Nashville plays against the 2008 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings and 12 games against Eastern Conference foes such as Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins (Jan. 8) as well as 2008 NHL MVP Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals (March 10). Fifteen of the club’s final 16 regular season games are also included.

The Predators will have at least one game on national NHL rightsholder Versus: Tuesday, November 25 vs. the St. Louis Blues at the Sommet Center. The Predators could also have one more game televised nationally on NBC’s NHL “Game of the Week”. NBC will offer flexible scheduling for its nine regular season dates and will be able to select from up to four games on Sunday afternoons. Nashville’s lone eligible game is at Dallas on Sunday, February 8.
