Preds Remain At No. 9 Following Draft Lottery
The Nashville Predators remained at the No. 9 slot in the first round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, following the results of Monday night's draft lottery. The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Draft Lottery, after entering the process with the best odds to win, and the draft order remained true to the end of season standings.

The Preds own the No. 9 slot by way of last summer's trade with the Florida Panthers. Nashville also owns its own first round selection, which currently slots in at No. 15 pending playoff results (the Stanley Cup Champion selects No. 30, preceeded by the other Stanley Cup finalist at No. 29, and the two other Conference finalists at Nos. 27 & 28). The Predators also currently own two second round selections, their own and Florida's.

The final order of selection for the first 14 picks in this summer's entry draft are:
1) Tampa Bay
2) Los Angeles
3) Atlanta
4) St. Louis
5) NY Islanders
6) Columbus
7) Toronto
8) Phoenix
9) Nashville (via Florida)
10) Vancouver
11) Chicago
12) Anaheim (via Edmonton)
13) Buffalo
14) Carolina

During the Draft Lottery show, TSN released its revised top-10 2008 draft prospect list. Forward Steven Stamkos remained No. 1. Defensemen Zach Bogosian moved up to No. 2, followed by fellow defensemen Drew Doughty and Alex Pietrangelo and Nos. 3 & 4. Russian forward Nikita Filatov came in at No. 5, defenseman Like Schenn at No. 6, forwards Mikkel Boedker at No. 7 and Colin Wilson at No. 8, defenseman Tyler Myers at No. 9, and forward Cody Hodgson at No. 10.
