In Canadian Junior action, out West, Jonathon Blum and Vancouver swept Mark Santorelli and Chilliwack, 4-0 in the best-of-seven first round series. Santorelli posted five points in the four games, while Blum picked up three points, including an assist on the overtime winner in Game 3. In the Ontario Hockey League, Nick Spaling and Kitchener swept Jeremy Smith and Plymouth, 4-0 in the best-of-seven first round series. Spaling had a huge series with four goals and 11 points, while Smith stopped 133 shots in the four games (33.3 average).
