Predators Prospect Report (Week of Feb. 4)

Preds prospects Jeremy Smith and Nick Spaling both participated in the OHL All-Star Game for the Western Conference. The Eastern Conference won the game 8-7 in a shootout, but Spaling scored in the game, a third period goal to tie the score at 5-5. Smith started in net for the West and stopped 14 of 17 shots.

In NCAA action, Blake Geoffrion had a big weekend recording a goal and two assists as the University of Wisconsin split its two game series against Minnesota Duluth.

Across the Atlantic, Russian forward Denis Platonov scored two goals and two assists in two games last week, while fellow Russian forward Sergei Sonin continued his scoring run with a goal and two assists in his two games. Sonin has recorded five goals and nine points with a +7 rating over his last 11 games, after posting one goal and eight points in the season's first 33 games.
