10th: Preds end eight-game winless streak vs. Blues thanks to Delmore\'s OT winner
January 7, 2003

The St. Louis Blues were nothing but trouble for the Predators in the franchise’s early goings, holding Nashville to just six victories in the team’s first five seasons of existence, including an eight-game winless streak leading up to the third meeting of the squads in 2002-03. It all changed that night.

Two goals from Andy Delmore, including the overtime game winner at 4:44 of the extra session vaulted the Preds to a 2-1 victory over their rivals from St. Louis. Since then, Nashville has gotten the best of the Blues, including a run of 14 consecutive victories in the series from Oct. 15, 2005 to Jan. 27, 2007.

``Everybody knows we have had little bit of a tough time against the Blues,'' Delmore said. ``We just stuck this one out.”

Tomas Vokoun also performed lights out that night, stopping 30 shots to earn second star honors behind Delmore.

``We had really great goaltending,'' head coach Barry Trotz said. ``When you are down, you have to take some risks and the goaltender has to come up really big. Tomas did that and that's why we're sitting here with two points.''
