Predators recall forward Abid

Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced Wednesday that the club has recalled forward Ramzi Abid (RAM-zee a-BIHD) from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.  

Abid, 27 (3/24/80), posted five points (1g-4a) in 13 NHL games with Nashville during one recall (March 4-April 4) with the Predators this season.  The 6-2, 210-pound Montreal native posted 49 points (19g-30a) in 57 AHL games with Milwaukee, ranking third on the club in goals and fourth in points.

Prior to this season, Abid had appeared in 55 NHL games with Phoenix (2002-03), Pittsburgh (2002-04) and Atlanta (2005-06), registering 13 goals and 12 assists (13g-12a-25pts).

Game 4 of the 2007 Western Conference Quarterfinal Playoff series between the Predators and San Jose Sharks takes place tonight at 9:00 p.m. CT at San Jose's H.P. Pavilion.  The game will be televised nationally on Versus and broadcast locally on 104.5-FM The Zone.
